Matt Miller

Lighting Designer

Based in Chicago, IL; Matt brings over two decades of experience to the industry, lighting for a broad variety of projects including Dance, Theatre, Music, TV, Live Events, Installations, Corporate Productions, and more. Matt has worked with such companies as Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, Yeager Design, The Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Microsoft, Google, Leslie Odom Jr., John Deere, Atlanta Ballet, Brooklyn Academy of Music, The Joffrey Ballet, HMS Media, Lines Ballet, The Auditorium Theatre, The Chicago Dancing Festival, The International Champions Cup, Music Theatre of Wichita, Oregon Ballet Theatre, Mercedes, The New Victory Theatre, Verizon, Madison Square Garden, Spotify, Ballet Idaho, arc3design, and many more. Matt has toured extensively throughout the US and internationally. During his tenure with Hubbard Street, he designed over thirty new works and had the honor to act as a cultural ambassador for the US State Department during Hubbard Street’s participation in Dancemotion USA. Matt is literate in Vectorworks, Lightwright, Cinema 4D, as well as the Grand MA and Eos console families. He is an alumnus of the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film at the University of Nebraska Lincoln, as well as a proud member of United Scenic Artists 829. In 2018 he was awarded the Outstanding Alumni Achievement Award, by UNL’s Hixon-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts.  Matt makes his home in Chicago with his wife, Marisa and his son, Milo.
